ABOUT US
Who we are:
North Rockhampton Athletics Centre is a small not-for profit Centre that is run by dedicated
volunteers made up of Parents of our Athletes.
North Rockhampton Athletics Centre was formed in 1981 and was the 32 nd  Centre in
Queensland.

North Rockhampton Athletics Centre is affiliated with LAQ (Little Athletics Queensland (www.laq.org.au).

Our Centre caters for Tiny Tots 3 & 4yo up to young adults
turning 17 in their last year. Each year our athletes from u9 to u17 age groups attend
Regional & State events, with some of our athletes going on to National events.
Our season runs on Sunday afternoons during school terms between March & September
each year culminating in our Regional Championships in September.
The motto for Little Athletics is FAMILY, FUN and FITNESS and that’s what we want
everyone to experience every Sunday.

It is our Centres vision to see all of our athletes enjoying their time here and we encourage
each individual athlete to strive for their own personal best each week.
Over the years the Centre has had a large number of our athletes become State, National &
Australian finalists & place getters.

What is Little Athletics?
Little Athletics is a uniquely Australian sport for children 3 -16 years. As the name suggests,
it is based upon the sport of athletics (track & field) and the events are specially modified to
suit the ages and abilities of children. A wide range of running, jumping, throwing and
walking events is conducted.
Little Athletics is the Foundation for all Sports. It offers young people activities and skills
that will stand them in good stead for their sporting future.
Each year across Queensland, approximately 14,500 boys and girls enjoy the activities that
Little Athletics has to offer. The track & field based competition is conducted throughout
